You have to consider the period the house was built as Flying Star is for the birth chart of the house.

There are several schools of thought:-

1. Once you make major renovation to the house, the entire house birth chart is altered to the year of the renovation.

2. The main door is considered your chi of your house and that all the levels of the house uses the same chart based on the flying star of the main door at the ground floor.

3. Every level has its own chart, and each level should be calculated based on the entrance to that level. So this means that a renovation in say the 2nd level should mean that the 2nd level chart is altered.

So depending on the schools which is adopting this theory the explanation would change.

Normally, traditional method of doing it, is to take the main door as the chi, and that means that the rest of the houses will follow the main chart. Because for 1 to 3 levels these are low level so the difference shouldn't be that great. Most important is the direction of the door.

So under the above traditional assumption, a major renovation done to the house will alter the the rest of the chart to the new year.

For fishes, and fish tanks, it is more complicated, because the number of fishes, the colour, the water, the type of decoration, such as sand etc also can affect the element of the fish tank.

So it is not advisable for using fish to represent elements. You would be better off using standard objects.

If you like to read up more, I remebered Cecil had replied several users in this forum about fish or fish tank. Please do a search on this forum.

The standard mirror, depending on the location if it is placed auspicious location, it is ok.

However, if you place it in an inauspicious location the chi is bounced back and you will be badly affected by it.

It is best to check the flying star to see if the location is a good or bad location before attempting to put mirrors etc.
